Diving into the Heart of Energy Production: RHIT Students at Dibamba

In April, RHIT was more than just a place for classroom learning — it became a space for exploration, engagement, and real-world application. One of the month’s highlights was a particularly impactful field trip: a visit to the Dibamba Thermal Power Plant.

Arriving on site around 10 a.m., our students were welcomed by a team of passionate experts. Following a clear and comprehensive introduction to the plant’s operations, they were guided through the engine rooms and various production areas — two hours of technical and human immersion in a facility that plays a strategic role in our economic capital.

Our future engineers had the opportunity to gauge the gap — or alignment — between theory and practice, ask in-depth questions, and observe complex processes in action. Meanwhile, students in Management and Legal Careers explored organizational dynamics, governance challenges, and the operational management of such a site.

A powerful blend of discovery, discipline, inspiration, and professional growth. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners at the plant, whose openness and generosity turned this visit into a truly uplifting experience.

At RHIT, field immersions are not extras — they are central to our educational approach. They are part of a broader system that combines work-study rhythms (4 days in class / 1 day in a company), hands-on projects, monthly conferences, and regular engagement with the professional world.

Because for us, to educate is to prepare. And to prepare means exposing our students to real-life challenges — with both high standards and genuine care.
